As an Accounting Supervisor with Wegmans in the Fixed Asset area, you will provide oversight, financial analysis, reporting and interpretation to help our business partners make informed decisions.  You’ll manage and develop a team, while providing support to our Capital Expenditures and Operating Expense budgeting processes and ensuring the accuracy of our company’s long term assets.

What will I do?

  • Manage a team of employees, providing the resources, feedback, and development opportunities they need to be successful
  • Ensure the teams data is accurate, monthly closing procedures are performed and associated accounts are reconciled
  • Partner cross functionally to support a variety of activities and processes including Capital and Operating Expense budgeting, AP approvals, depreciation, amortization and various expense line budgets, and monthly forecasting
  • Collaborate with business partners to understand analysis/reporting needs, perform a variety of analysis for assets and investments and communicate findings appropriately for different audiences to inform decision making
  • Partner with Tax to prepare quarterly and year end fixed asset schedules for the corporate income tax returns, personal property tax reporting and provide support to state sales tax and external auditors
  • Provide subject matter expertise, help resolve complex issues, support rollout of financial systems, determine asset classification for capital projects, implement changes to procedures, and address changing tax legislations
  • Facilitate and participate in special projects/analysis as necessary; identify opportunities and partner with cross-functional teams to implement solutions

Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
  • Supervisory experience
  • Experience analyzing financial data
  •  Ability to learn and adapt to new computer systems and/or functionality quickly
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate complex topics in a simplified way

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Lawson Asset Management experience
  • Knowledge of tax regulations for fixed asset accounting
