SUMMARY

Responsible for the driver qualification and driver compliance process within the Risk Management department by performing the following duties personally or through subordinates.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

  • Auditing driver qualification files and reviewing documents for compliance.
  • Reviewing driver eligibility based on FMCSA regulations and company protocols. 
  • Maintaining driver records within Workday and Sharepoint.
  • Dealing with customer complaints related to drivers.
  • Maintaining DOT records in accordance with regulations. 
  • Conducting research, compiling data, and creating reports as necessary.
  • Attending and participating in team meetings and company-sponsored programs
  • Other duties may be assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Directly supervises 1-5 employees in the Risk Management. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the company's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and addressing concerns with employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.

QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Two years administrative experience and/or equivalent combination of education and experience.  Prefer experience in Risk Management and in a confidential work environment.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.  Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Ability to utilize the Microsoft Office Suite and HRIS
  • Knowledge of applicable laws regarding FMCSA and OSHA
  • Prefer commercial driver license and/or CDL training experience

WORK AVAILABILITY

  • Must maintain regular and acceptable attendance at such level as is determined by management.
  • Must be regularly available and willing to work at least 8 hours per day, 40 hours per week or such other hours per day or hours per week as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet business needs.
  • Must be available and willing to work such weekends and holidays as the employer determines are necessary or desirable to meet its business needs.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • This position requires occasional travel with overnight stays
  • Must meet driver’s license requirements as required by the company
  • Must be able to legally obtain a rental vehicle in all states in which the company does business
  • Must have current auto liability insurance
