Process Engineer- Injection Molding

We are seeking a dynamic Injection Molding Process Engineer to lead the charge in revolutionizing our client’s manufacturing processes. As a pivotal member of our client’s Process Engineering team, you will play a strategic role in enhancing injection molding processes and equipment. Your primary focus will be on continuous improvement, collaborating with cross-functional teams, and ensuring the profitability of new business ventures through effective injection molding strategies.

Your Impactful Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate seamlessly with Manufacturing Engineering for a harmonious integration of molding equipment and parameters.
  • Lead tooling engineers in ensuring capable and well-documented molding processes.
  • Leverage Lean practices and Statistical Methods to recommend impactful improvements to our equipment
  • Mentor and inspire the next generation of engineers within our production team.
  • Stay ahead of the curve by exploring the latest in injection molding technology, contributing to a culture of innovation
  • Sample and evaluate new molds to uphold company standards and troubleshoot issues.
  • Work in cross-functional teams to complete projects efficiently, meeting deadlines.
  • Tackle challenges head-on by evaluating and troubleshooting old molds using Scientific Injection Molding (SIM).
  • Collaborate with Tooling Engineering to craft new tools, aligning with the scientific principles that drive our injection molding success.
Your Credentials:
  • The ideal candidate will have a 4-year college degree (not required), preferably in engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive plastics processing experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Must have a technical background and strong aptitude in plastic injection molding.
  • Knowledge of commonly used injection molding equipment, methods, practices, and procedures
  • Knowledge and experienced in Lean practices and Statistical Methods.
  • Technologically savvy with solid computer skills (Microsoft Office, Mold Flow Analysis, RJG, eDart, Spinfire).
  • Keen eye for interpreting drawings and prints (both part and tool prints).
  • Understanding on measuring equipment including calipers and pin gauges and any other basic measuring device.
  • Problem-solving skills: This requires the ability to think critically and identify the root cause of problems. You should also be able to develop and implement solutions that meet the needs of your customers.
  • Communication skills: You will need to be able to communicate complex technical concepts to customers concisely. You should also be able to listen to customers' needs and understand their requirements.
  • Positive thinker with aggressive, can-do attitude.
  • Ability to present commercial and technical information effectively at all levels.
