Med Surg – RN
Currently looking for qualified Registered Nurse (RN) candidates to fill full-time 13-week Night Shift contracts on a Med Surg Observation unit at a great hospital in Bloomington, IN. Interested candidates must have 1.5-2+ years of recent Med Surg experience is required. Current pay is $43-53 per hour, but depends on contract availability.

Responsibilities of the Med Surg - RN
- Provide direct patient care to individuals with varying medical and surgical conditions in a hospital setting.
- Conduct comprehensive assessments of patient's health status, Administer medications, treatments, and procedures as prescribed by physicians, following established protocols and safety guidelines.
- Develop, implement, and monitor individualized nursing care plans based on patient's needs, medical diagnoses, and treatment goals.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams, including physicians, therapists, social workers, and case managers, to coordinate patient care and facilitate timely discharge planning.
- Educate patients and their families about their medical conditions, treatment options, and self-care strategies to promote health and wellness.
- Perform nursing skills and procedures within scope of practice, and following facility policy and guidelines.
- Document patient assessments, interventions, and outcomes accurately and timely in electronic medical records.
- Respond promptly to changes in patients' conditions, including emergencies, and initiate appropriate interventions to stabilize or improve their health status.
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, infection control measures, and compliance with regulatory standards to ensure safe and high-quality patient care.
Requirements of the Registered Nurse – RN
- Active Registered Nurse (RN) licensed within the state of Indiana.
- 1.5-2+ years of recent and related experience, as required by the facility.
- Must be able to work independently, yet together as part of a team.
- Must be okay with being floated to different units.
- Must be able to remain calm under pressure.
- Proficient at taking vital signs and administering medication accordingly.
- Active BLS, physical, TB test, and other medical compliance as required by the facility.
