Position Overview
The Cas h i e r will proc es s sal e s and cas h register operations quickly, accurately, and efficiently. R es ponsible for provid in g outstand in g customer service. Ma in ta in store and work environment in a clean, organized, and safe manner.
Es sential Job Duti es
- Greet and in teract in a positive manner with customers. Assist with qu es t i ons regard in g merchandise, location of merchandise in store, pric in g, and promotions.
- Proc es s customer sal e s through use of POS computer. Receive payment by cas h , check, credit cards, vouchers, or automatic debits and proc es s es accord in g to company standard procedur es .
- Issue refunds or credits to customers with manager approval when nec es sary.
- Bag, box, or wrap merchandise; prepare packag es as nec es sary.
- Ma in ta in an awaren es s of all promotions and advertisements.
- Cou n t money in cas h drawers at the beg in n in g and end of shift to ensure correct amounts and adequate change levels.
- Correctly ma in ta in all cas h levels at the POS computer, compute and record totals of transactions.
- Answer and r es olve rout in e customer qu es t i ons; communicate requ es t s or compla in ts to management.
- Ma in ta in store environment in clud in g doors, floors, w in dows, ceil in gs, r e s t r ooms, and workstations. Clean and dust products, displays and face of the products.
- Attend and participate in all company-sponsored tra in in g programs as required .
- Perform other duti es as assigned by management.
Knowledge, Skills & Abiliti es
- M in imum education required - High School diploma or GED equivalent.
- M in imum experience required - 1 year of prior customer service and cas h handl in g experience.
- Special skills required - Commitment to provid in g excellent customer service, str ong oral and written communication skills. Ma in tenance of prof es sional demeanor. Must be detail oriented and highly observant. Must be able to multi-task. Must poss es s good mathematic skills. Able to use a calculator and computers.
- Special knowledge required - Previous build in g product and/or hardware product knowledge preferred.
- Other - Computer literacy.
- Physical demands in clude stand in g for extended periods of time, walk in g, bend in g, or stoop in g, lift in g up to 25 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds oc cas ionally.
