Essential Functions:聽

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Communicates with multidisciplinary team members by sharing pertinent patient data and needs. Provides accurate and timely handoff communications. Keeps patients and their families informed about their care.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Establishes individualized nursing diagnosis based on assessment data and formulates care plan. Collaborates with patient and family members to address care needs and provide patient centered care. Adjusts plan of care appropriately.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Patient/family care needs and/or problems are promptly identified and addressed. Patients are regularly assessed and reassessed. Patient responses to nursing and MD interventions and treatments are evaluated and documented in the ongoing assessment data.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Utilizing an interdisciplinary approach, initiates discharge planning to meet the discharge care needs of each individual patient.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Provides patient and family education in regard to the hospitalization/admission, medications, and/or in preparation for discharge. Upon discharge, provides appropriate discharge instructions to include follow-up and referral needs.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Uses safe medication practices (Read Back, double checks) and documents outcomes such as patient response to new medication, side effects and adverse reactions. Completes medication reconciliation upon admission, transfer and discharge.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates ability to:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for patient with Mag sulfate for preeclampsia/preterm labor.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for patient with Pitocin Induction/augmentation.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for the patient with a fetal demise.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for the patient during labor and delivery.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for a post-operative cesarean section.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care of a post-operative gynecology patientcare of a post-operative pediatric patient.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for the infant requiring oxygen.care for the infant with IV/Antibiotics.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for the infant requiring phototherapy.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Evaluate non stress test.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist physician with intrauterine pressure catheter insertion.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assist with and care for the infant with circumcision.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Care for the preterm infant.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Perform car seat test.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Initiates and maintains amnio infusion.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Demonstrates placement of NG tube/NG feeding.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Assists with orientation and training of others as directed.

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Employee supervises others.


Minimum Education:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Associate鈥檚 Degree in Nursing Required

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Bachelor's Degree in Nursing Preferred

Required Skills:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Requires critical thinking skills, decisive judgment and the ability to work with minimal supervision. Must be able to work in a stressful environment and take appropriate action.

Required Certifications:

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Basic Life Support (BLS)

聽聽聽聽聽聽聽聽 Handle With Care

Licenses:
