Position Summary:

The primary purpose of the First/Surgical Assist position is to assist the surgeon and RN’s in operative procedures. The primary role of the First/Surgical Assist- will be to function as an assistant to the Surgeon.


Minimum Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Associate degree preferred
  • Basic Life Support (BCLS) required within 30 days of hire
  • NBSTSA First Assist Certification on hire. Exempts surgical technologist practicing as of July 1, 2013
  • Arterial Line placement competency within 6 months of hire
