Lab Technician

The position will

require wearing a respirator so you can not have facial hair unfortunately.

Job Description / Duties

Within the Sample Preparation Department, the Sample Preparation

Technician 2 will work with client samples (primarily minerals and mining

materials) and prepare them for laboratory analysis.

• Drying, crushing, splitting, pulverizing, sieving (including

International Soils)

• Loading and unloading drying ovens

• Maintaining production logs

• General cleaning duties for maintaining basic lab cleanliness

• Handling compositing, screen metallic, special handling

requests, etc.

• Inspecting equipment and informing leadership if

adjustment is required

• Ensuring analytical quality

• Observe established safety regulations and comply with all

health and safety policies and procedures;

Required Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

• Good hand-eye coordination

• Good organizational skills

• Ability to work independently or as part of a team

• Basic alpha/numeric comprehension

• Basic English communication skills (written and verbal)

Required Qualifications

• Prior work experience in a commercial minerals laboratory or

minerals sample preparation highly preferred

• Ability to sit and/or stand for long periods of time

• Ability to work in a hot and dusty environment

• Manual dexterity to perform repetitive tasks

• Ability to lift up to 50lbs; (occasionally lifting may exceed

50lbs and assistance is mandatory from either another employee or the lift

assist equipment)

• Ability to sit at a desk and do general office work, which

includes periodic sedentary responsibilities

Pay/ Schedules/Shifts

M-F

4:00pm - 12:30am or M-F 8am-430pm in a mineral lab. The position will require

wearing a respirator. They will do orientation their first few days working an

8am- 4:30pm shift. During those shifts, they will make $18.39 per hour. Once on

evening shift, they will make $20.39.

Total of 2 Night shift positions available - 4pm – 12:30am - $20.39 an hour
