Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose of the Stationary Engineer is to provide general maintenance and repairs in guest rooms, grounds and public spaces.
Work Performed:
The Stationary Engineer will be tasked with the following duties, responsibilities, and assignments:
- Operation of and/or assisting in the operation of and maintaining the boiler and HVAC equipment
- Perform preventative maintenance assignments on a scheduled basis (e.g., "room care");Â
- Complete work orders from guests and hotel associates and record in log; Â
- Assist in checking electrical systems such as air conditioning controls, television sets, lighting systems, and make minor repairs and/or replacement; Â
- Make routine repairs on all hotel equipment including small appliances, kitchen equipment, laundry equipment, pool equipment, hand and power tools and general plumbing systems such as pipelines, toilets and sinks;Â
- Service the hotel's pool, including adjusting chemicals and cleaning filters;
- Refurbish furniture and fixtures within guest rooms such as cabinets, tables, chairs, doors windows and counters, including painting and finishing furniture and fixtures if needed;
- Operate power equipment, hand tools and vehicles associated with ground maintenance and landscaping activities in all seasons;
- Maintain grounds equipment and tools in proper working order. Perform minor maintenance and repair on equipment and tools as required;Â
- Remove trash daily from sidewalks, grounds, landscaping and parking lots;Â
- Provide friendly, prompt service for hotel guests and associates in accordance with Atrium’s Core Values;
- Follow all company safety and security policies and procedures, including reporting accidents, injuries and unsafe work conditions to management; andÂ
- Any and all other work as required to complete the primary purpose of the position.
Qualifications:
Required Prior Experience:
Three (3) years of experience in the operation of, assisting in the operation of, or installing boilers and refrigeration or air conditioning units.
Preferred Prior Experience:
Hotel maintenance experience
Preferred Education:
High school diploma or equivalent
Required Licenses/ Certification:
First Class Engineer’s License or ability to obtain First Class Engineer’s License within 90 days of hire
Physical:
Able to lift a minimum of 50lbs occasionally
Able to lift a minimum of 25lbs regularly
Able to bend and squat repeatedly
Able to walk and stand for duration of scheduled shift
Other:
Flexible to work day shifts, early mornings, evenings, nights, weekends and holidays
