Job Summary:

The wound ostomy registered nurse specializes in the management of wound and ostomy care by treating and monitoring wounds and ostomies that are the result of disease, injury, or medical treatments. The wound ostomy registered nurse works in collaboration with members of the healthcare team to provide management of a comprehensive plan of care.

Essential Responsibilities:


  • Manages and treats wound and ostomy patients by providing, coordinating, and supporting clinical aspects of direct patient care including education as directed by the established plan of care from a provider.

Basic Qualifications:
Experience


  • Minimum two (2) years of wound, ostomy management nursing experience.

Education

  • Bachelors Degree in Nursing or four (4) years of experience in a directly related field.
  • High School Diploma or General Education Development (GED) required.
License, Certification, Registration
  • Basic Life Support OR CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers
  • Registered Nurse License (Hawaii) required at hire
Additional Requirements:

  • Certification through WOCNCB, NAWC, or AAWM within 2 years of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior General, Plastic, Vascular or Med Surg Experience.
