Description:
ā¢ Running metal testing as well as raw metals testing.
ā¢ Performing routine sample prep and the analysis of incoming and in-process materials, including approval/rejection of material based on results of testing.
ā¢Perform chemical analysis by using various laboratory instruments, including gravimetric, ICP, and XRF.
ā¢Perform metallurgical testing as required (i.e. micro-section preparation, hardness and mechanical property testing such as tensile and resistance) utilizing metallurgical equipment.
ā¢Provide direct feedback to Metal Casting operations, providing melt charge calculations for heat corrections to meet desired element target objectives.
ā¢Maintain laboratory records and databases.
ā¢Maintain good housekeeping and safe work habits in accordance with Lean and 5S
ā¢Prepare Certificate of Analysis for outgoing material.
Additional Skills & Qualifications:
ā¢ Associate degree in chemistry, biochemistry, Biology or Natural Science with 1-2 years previous experience working in a manufacturing laboratory
