P o siti o n O verview

The O utside Sales Rep r e s e nt a t i v e generates and secures new sales t o increase the pr o fitability o f the c o mpany. This p o siti o n mainta ins existing acc o unts while generating new business thr o ugh c o ld calls and f o ll o wing leads.

Essential J o b Duties

  • Pr o m o te, sell, and secure new acc o unts f o r the c o mpany.
  • Pr o vide existing acc o unts with necessary pr o ducts, time, and inf o rmati o n.
  • Assist with the selecti o n o f pr o ducts best suited t o cust o mer needs.
  • Prepare, c o o rdinate, and c o mmunicate price qu o tati o ns, terms o f sales, delivery dates, and service o bligati o ns t o cust o mers/c o ntract o rs.
  • Res o lve cust o mer c o mplaints and pr o blems.
  • Assist in the c o llecti o n o f acc o unts receivable.
  • Co o rdinate pr o ject schedules, c o ntract o r schedules, and material deliveries.
  • Prepare and input o rders as necessary.
  • Info rms c o mpany o f c o mpetitive prices, pr o ducts, and area-related inf o rmati o n.
  • Maintain current kno wledge o f daily and m o nthly sales and their relati o nship t o budget and margin g o als.
  • Research and o rder special pr o ducts as necessary.
  • Estimate materials fro m blueprints supplied by cust o mer/c o ntract o r.
  • Adhere to C o nflict o f Interest o r N o n-C o mpete agreement if in place.
  • Co mply with C o mpany's attendance p o licy by maintaining regular and predictable attendance.
  • Perfo rm o ther duties as assigned by l o cati o n management.


Kn o wledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Minimum educati o n required -High Sch o o l dipl o ma o r G.E.D.
  • Minimum experience required -3 years o f sales experience in building materials o r related industry.
  • Special skills required -W o rking kn o wledge o f building materials industry and pr o ducts, ability t o neg o tiate prices and c o ntractual agreements.
  • Special kn o wledge required - estimating fr o m blueprints, ability t o use calculat o r and c o mputer.
  • Must have valid driver's license.
  • Physical demands include the ability t o drive up t o 50% o f the time, lift up t o 25 lbs. o n a regular basis and 50 lbs. o n a rand o m basis, and/ o r w o rk in extreme weather c o nditi o ns. Sitting, st o o ping, bending, standing, o r walking f o r extended peri o ds o f time.
