QPS Employment Group has a great Maintenance Mechanic position available at a company in Waukegan, IL. This is a direct hire position.Â
Maintenance Mechanic Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Automated conveyor and equipment repairs and maintenance.
- Comprehensive electrical diagnosis and wiring.
- Custom design, building and implementation of in-house solutions.
- Extensive diagnosis and repairs of packaging equipment.
- Robotics repairs and maintenance.
- Repair and rebuild materials handling and packaging equipment as needed.
- Perform and close out work order requests.
- Review production schedule and perform machine set-up, tear-down, and necessary adjustments.
- Lead production changeovers and setups.
- Complete all repairs in a timely manner to minimize lost production time.
- Perform preventative maintenance checks during production and take appropriate corrective action.
- Perform and close out work order requests.Â
- Demonstrate continuous effort to improve operations and streamline work processes.
- Order, catalog, and track materials, tools, and parts inventory necessary for maintenance and operations.
- Operate a variety of hand and power tools.
- Verify and sign off on line-clearances and line-setups to ensure quality standards are met.
- Perform Lock Out Tag Out procedures per company procedures.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Comply with health and safety regulations.
- Good verbal communication with Supervisors, Co-workers, Customers and Vendors.
- Attending meetings and on-site visits with vendors and support technicians.
- Other maintenance, repair and installation activities as instructed.
Maintenance Mechanic Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of mechanical experience in a manufacturing environment required.
- High School Diploma or GED preferred.
- Experience with packaging machinery desired.
- PC literacy is a plus (email, reports, CMMS, and WO management).
- English or Bilingual required.
- Excellent organization and communication skills
- Treat all employees in a dignified and appropriate manner.
- Have basic hand tools for daily job functions.
- Experience with packaging machinery desired.
- Able to read SDS and follow the instructions on the labels of all SDS chemicals.
