  • Our client, an energy producing consumer products company, is seeking a Transfer Switch Engineer to join their team. As a Transfer Switch Engineer, you will be part of the New Product Development Engineering Team supporting Manufacturing. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in new product design and development as well as  experience with machine design, spring-loaded and latching mechanisms.   This is a contract status position.

Job Title: Transfer Switch Engineer
Location: Waukesha, WI
Pay: $60-75/hr. plus benefits

Key Responsibilities
  • Design, validate and bring new products to market. 
  • Specifies precise new product functional requirements; designs, tests and integrates complex components to produce final designs and evaluates the design's' overall effectiveness, cost (including cost/benefit analysis), reliability (risk analysis), and safety. 
  • Designs, develops, executes, and evaluates fitness-for-use testing, product specifications and process validation plans for a variety of complex products and/or components; creates and reviews material part specifications and bills of materials. 
  • Collaborates with internal manufacturing partners, contract manufacturers, designers and product specialists to optimize complex and advance designs for manufacturability. 
  • Utilizes CAD (Computer Aided Design) and CAE (Computer Aided Engineering) systems to model new designs and produce detailed engineering drawings.
Requirements
  • Experience in new product design and development. 
  • Experience with machine design, spring-loaded and latching mechanisms. 
  • Experience with contact design and current carrying electro-mechanical systems.  
  • Ability to conduct analysis using FEA, CFD, etc. 
  • Experience designing and testing to UL certification standards; specifically, UL1008.
