A material handler is responsible for efficiently and safely handling materials using specialized equipment, such as clamp forklifts. They play a crucial role in warehouse operations by loading and unloading products from trucks and containers, ensuring inventory accuracy, and maintaining a smooth flow of goods.

Shift Schedule: Friday-Sunday, 5am-5pm

Pay: $18/hour 
 
Location: West Columbia, SC

Responsibilities:

  • Loading and Unloading: Safely load and unload materials from trucks, trailers, and containers using clamp forklifts.
  • Inventory Management: Regularly check inventory levels, coordinate product placement within the warehouse, and perform cycle counts to ensure accurate stock levels.
  • Quality Control: Inspect products for defects, address quality issues during tests, and maintain high standards for outgoing materials.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate clamp forklifts to pack and arrange merchandise in assigned carrier containers. Also, unload and receive rolls of paper using roll clamp trucks.
  • Material Handling: Efficiently move goods, stack empty pallets, and arrange merchandise on pallets for shipping.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety guidelines, complete pre-shift inspections, and maintain equipment in good working condition.
  • Customer Service: Maintain excellent customer service by ensuring timely and accurate handling of materials.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Keep the warehouse clean and organized, including proper disposal of waste materials.
  • Technology Proficiency: Familiarize yourself with warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software tools.
