Quality Analyst Job Opportunity:
long-term opportunity with an industry-leading food manufacturing company
Shift: Fri-Sun, 6am-6:30pm
Description:
Candidate will be working in the Quality Lab responsible for testing of different products. Testing will consist of: ph testing, viscosity testing, density, % solids, and weighing samples. Candidate will also be responsible for swabbing equipment before production starts to ensure it is clean; help with microbiological swabbing and the environmental pathogen monitoring program. Candidate will also be checking lines. This location manufactures veggie dips, chocolate dips, caramel dips, and frosting.
Other duties will include:
- Follows Work Practices in Quality Assurance manual and compares test results to standards.
- Reports processing problems or potential problems immediately to Production Manager and Q.A. Manager.
- Reports packaging line problems or potential problems immediately to Production Manager and Q.A. Manager.
- Collects retain samples at prescribed frequency and maintains samples in an orderly fashion.
- Maintains adequate inventory of lab prepared colors and flavors.
- Maintains lab work area in a clean and orderly fashion.
- Performs calibration of lab equipment when assigned.
- Follow and generally keep aware of the plant GMPs and reports anything which might have a negative effect on our products or company.
- Follow Good Laboratory Practices (GLPs) established by Q.A. Manager and safety guidelines established by Plant Management.
- Ensures compliance to quality, food safety and HACCP support programs; monitors critical control points (CCPs) for pH, water activity and metal detection; assures conformity to all company, customer and government standards.
- Performs other duties / responsibilities as assigned by Q.A. Manager.

Qualifications:
- Must Have: BS in science related field
- Strong oral and written communication skills
- basic computer knowledge using excel and Microsoft word
- Prior experience in the food service industry is a big plus.
- Strong interest in food science long term.
