CNC Controls Engineer

Our client, a leading provider of industrial solutions, is seeking a CNC Controls Engineer to join their growing team. The ideal candidate will have experience withboth Siemens 840D and FANUC CNC controls. This is a contract to hire position!

Job Title:  CNC Controls Engineer
Location: Wixom, MI

What’s the Job?

• Design and layout of new electrical and CNC control systems for retrofit and remanufacture of machine tools and specialized machines.
• Instruct and support electrical technicians, electrical engineers, sales engineers, and customers as required.
• Write complex CNC and PLC programs for machine tools and document preliminary and finalized CNC and PLC programs.
• Write and repair high-level ladder circuits, structured text programs, and parametric programs.
• Assist with final troubleshooting of all electrical and control systems.
• Able to travel to customer sites for project related work (50% travel).

• Bachelors, associate degree, or technical training in Electrical Engineering or related curriculum.
• Strong background in Siemens and/or Fanuc Control Systems (or others) with working knowledge of old and new CNC systems.
• Ability to power up and troubleshoot a wide variety of machine tool control problems.
• Advanced level of machine tool control programming ability and knowledge.
• Ability to work closely with electrical technicians and others to develop safe and reliable control systems.
