Hiring a Lab Technician for one of the top agriculture company's in Woodland, CA!! Great culture and environment. Great way to get foot in the door with a lab and gain experience on resume!! Seasonal opportunity to potential full time if you get promoted from department! Must have degree within science related field to apply.
Schedule: M-F 7:30 am to 4 pm
Start date: July 6th - October (Seasonal opportunity)
Summary:
This will be the Vegetable Quality Lab, focus is sample prep, grinding, labor type functions.
Job Description:
Top 3: Team player, self-motivated, entry level, good attitude.
• The VQ lab likes to onboard entry level lab technicians (Bachelor’s degree with no work experience or some work experience) and train them from the bottom up and then they keep their best lab techs and promote them into other departments.
Looking for college grads who have good work ethic, team player attitude who will appreciate the opportunity.
● High volume of sample preparation for analysis (specifically tomato crops)
● Utilization of advanced tools such as a STAR, CAV, LOVIS and Autoflex for gathering data on various crop samples for the purpose of desired traits and future development in agriculture and plant pathology.
● Additional experience in PCR, ELISA and SDS-Page techniques
● Further experience with titration, refractometers and pipetting
● Adequately following safety protocol and upholding standard procedure when handling samples
● Upholding and restocking of chemical inventory within the lab and identifying broken or defective equipment
● Great team building skills while working in a collaborative laboratory environment
● Further experience in hazardous waste management.
● Proven capable of working in a fast paced environment.
● Strong sense of commitment towards progress.
MUST be okay with kitchen like environment with sample prep, grinding samples, labor type functions etc. If they prove themselves they will get to transition to a different department with more analytical skills in the future.
