About the role

We are hiring for a Stores Controller for a leading engineering and manufacturing company. You will be responsible for all aspects of the Stores area including stock rotation and 5S setting daily and nightly tasks and priorities to stores team. The role will involve issuing parts on ERP/MRP system and be able to be a proactive in solving booking in issues in support of the purchasing team.

Control, monitor and issue shortages to ongoing jobs as they come in in a timely manner.

Key Responsibilities

  • To be responsible of ensuring stock is booked in from suppliers in a timely manner.
  • Identify and report suppliers short or in correct deliveries.
  • To be responsible for physical storage of stock.
  • To pick and issue parts to the production team maintaining component control.
  • Ensure goods are packed and dispatched in a suitable manner.
  • To plan and supervise physical stock counts.
  • Supervise existing and recruit additional stores personnel as required.
  • To raise dispatch notes.
  • To carry out general administration activities for the team as necessary.
  • To participate and contribute in modernising processes and systems of work.
  • Liaise with company transport and arrange contractor transport as required.
  • Receiving and processing customer returns informing quality.
  • Liaising with Sister company on shared company vehicle deliveries

Requirements

Experience of stores supervision within a manufacturing environment

Experience managing/leading.

Knowledge of inventory control techniques

Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills

Reach fork lift licence and VNA an advantage
