Prospero Teaching is seeking to appoint a compassionate, nurturing, and positive tutor to support a young refugee student in the Amesbury (SP4) area. Tuition is required 5 hours per week and ideally sessions would be split into 1/2 hour sessions across the week.

As a Tutor, you will:

    • Focus on: Communication development, emotional support, and basic educational engagement
    • Assist the young person with communication
    • Be positive, engaging and enthusiastic
    • Create engaging tasks which will captivate learners
    • Plan tasks/learning around individual learning needs

About you:

    • Experience working with SEN students, particularly those with communication needs
    • A calm, patient, and empathetic approach
    • Background in education, speech and language support, or alternative provision

Essential & Desirable Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 1 year of experience working within UK schools- ESSENTIAL
      • Experience working with learners with Special Educational Needs (SEN)/ SEMH needs is highly desirable.
      • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
      • Ability to adapt teaching methods to suit different learning styles.

To be eligible for this role through Prospero teaching, you must:

  • Hold right to work in the UK
  • Hold an enhanced child barred list DBS certificate registered with the online update service or be willing to process a new application
  • Provide references upon request
  • Possess up to date Safeguarding Training (or a willingness to undertake this)
