Core responsibilities: • To act with the upmost professionalism and to adhere to the NMC code of conduct • Monitor and assist in the delivery of patient-centred care • Respect the patient’s dignity, privacy, wishes and beliefs • A ‘hands on’ role within the nursing environment • Encourage, develop and enhance the skills and knowledge of others and self • Promote best evidence-based practice • Apply and comply with legislation, policies and procedures What you will be doing: • Be involved in the daily handovers to communicate all aspects of care and needs • To demonstrate excellent communication skills within all nursing care • To assess and plan nursing daily care • Provide pre- and post-operation care • Monitor and administer medication and intravenous infusions • Take patient samples, pulses, temperatures and blood pressures • To supervise junior staff and tutor student nurses • Organise and prioritise workloads • Provide emotional support to patients and relatives • To efficiently and accurately complete all written documentation and record keeping • Be a role model to other staff on all departmental and hospital-wide matters • Ensure the working environment is as safe as possible and complies with company, professional, legal requirements and guidelines • Adhere to Infection Prevention Control policies and procedures • To work closely with the Procurement Department
