We are working with Barnsley Council to find a Council Tax Recovery Officer on a temporary basis. Job Type: Full-time  PAYE Rate: £12.59 to £18.53 per hour dependent on experience. Please do let me know what rate you would be looking for. Length of role: Initial 3 months.  Location: Hybrid. 2-3 days per week in Barnsley office. Can be remote after training period if preferred.  Working Hours: 8:45am - 4:15pm, Monday to FridayWe are seeking an experienced Council Tax Recovery Officer who is proficient in using the Academy system. The role involves managing a helpline to address Council Tax and recovery queries.Day-to-day of the role:- Answering the Council Tax helpline and addressing recovery queries 5 days per week.  - Managing incoming calls, which may vary in volume, especially during peak times such as mid-April when new bills are distributed.  - Working within a team of 9 staff members, providing support and ensuring the smooth operation of the helpline.  - Maintaining a customer-focused approach while handling potentially busy call periods.  Required Skills & Qualifications:- Essential experience in Council Tax recovery.  - Proficiency in using the Academy system.  - Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team.  - Strong communication skills and the ability to handle a high volume of calls.  - Experience in a similar role within a council tax environment.If you are interested, or have any questions, please let me know.
