I am currently working with an engineering company in Basildon who require an additional CNC Programmer/Setter.

The role:

In this varied role you will be responsible for carrying out the programming and setting up a range of Hurco machinery. The work will include:

  • Proving out program files, operating controls, setting offsets and editing programs
  • Inspecting and deburring parts for conformance
  • Periodically operating machines
  • Completing setting sheets
  • Measuring and marking dimensions and reference points on work pieces
  • Adjusting offsets to keep parts in tolerance
  • Operating lifting devices

The CNC Programmer/Setter we are looking for will have:

  • Experience in a similar manufacturing role
  • Understanding of drawings and manual check inspection requirements
  • Understanding of ERP systems to raise purchase orders, check stock and run reporting
  • Understanding of geometric tolerancing and dimensions
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail and reliability
  • The ability to work proactively and effectively as part of a team
  • The ability to work well and accurately in a time-constrained and pressured environment
  • Good written and verbal communication skills
  • A current clean driving licence

The company are offering:

  • Monday to Friday 07:30 – 16:30 with a half day finish on a Friday
