Contract Maintenance Engineer (ABB Robots/Paint)

gap technical are seeking a skilled Contract Maintenance Engineer with expertise in ABB robots and paint line maintenance. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation and maintenance of robotic systems integrated into paint lines at a world class manufacturing business based in Birmingham

Performance Objectives

  • Perform preventive maintenance tasks on ABB robotic systems within the paint line, including but not limited to: Routine inspections, Lubrication, Calibration, Troubleshooting, Component replacement, Software updates
  • Respond promptly to equipment breakdowns and perform corrective maintenance to minimize production downtime.
  • Collaborate with production and engineering teams to optimize robot performance, efficiency, and quality output.
  • Conduct regular assessments of the paint line equipment to identify areas for improvement and implement enhancements to enhance reliability and efficiency.
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols during all maintenance activities.
  • Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work performed, parts used, and equipment condition.
  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel on robot operation and basic maintenance procedures

Qualifiacitons & Experience

  • Apprentice Trained Engineer in Either Mechanical or Electrical Disciplines
  • Proven experience in maintenance and troubleshooting of ABB robotic systems, preferabl
  • within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong understanding of paint line operations and associated equipment.
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings, schematics, and manuals.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
  • Effective communication skills and the ability to interact with individuals at all levels of the organisation.
