Maintenance and Facilities Manager

 

Role Overview:

 

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Maintenance and Facilities Manager to join our team based in Birmingham. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing the Production and collaborating with customers, external suppliers, and internal stakeholders to ensure the installation and upkeep of production machinery and facilities.

 

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

  • Lead the installation and commissioning of facilities for production equipment.
  • Supervise the maintenance of production plant, equipment, and services.
  • Establish and maintain a robust Total Productive Maintenance (TPM) schedule, managing associated risks.
  • Identify, coordinate, and oversee contractors on site to ensure compliance with Risk Assessments and Health & Safety requirements.
  • Develop and maintain Risk Assessments and Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) documentation for site-based projects.
  • Ensure the maintenance and calibration of all machinery and inspection equipment.
  • Define and oversee site cleanliness standards according to specifications.
  • Implement and manage Business Unit security protocols in alignment with overall site plans.
  • Conduct statutory inspections as required and communicate follow-up actions effectively.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for site emergency issues and establish appropriate emergency response procedures, potentially involving third parties.
  • Undertake special projects as needed.

 

 

Skills/Qualifications:

 

  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant experience in manufacturing, preferably in high-volume/high-speed production environments.
  • Experience with Injection Moulding and materials conversion is desirable.
  • Hands-on experience with mechanical/electrical equipment maintenance.
  • Ability to effectively manage multi-skilled maintenance engineers and service providers.
  • In-depth knowledge of Health, Safety, and Environmental legislation.
  • Experience in budget preparation and management.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work in a diverse and dynamic environment.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively within defined deadlines.
  • A full driving licence is preferred.
