Job Title: Teaching Assistant (1-to-1 Support for Child with Autism)Location: Primary School, Blackburn

Hours: 8:30 to 15:30 - Monday to Friday

We are recruiting for a Teaching Assistant to join a Primary School in Blackburn as a 1-to-1 SEN Teaching Assistant.

This Teaching Assistant position will be providing one-to-one support for a child with autism. This position will be supporting the child's development, communication and learning needs in and outside of the classroom.

The child is non-verbal and has delayed development and visual impairment. The successful candidate must have experience with the Attention Autism approach and be confident in supporting the child's learning and development on a one-to-one basis.

Required Experience and Skills:

  • Proven experience working with children with autism, especially those with non-verbal communication and additional needs.
  • Knowledge and experience of the Attention Autism approach.
  • Ability to work independently with the child, adapting to their unique needs and providing emotional and educational support.
  • Good understanding of how to support children with visual impairment and developmental delays.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with the class teacher, other staff, and the child's family.

Qualifications:

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification
  • Experience in supporting children with autism, visual impairments, and delayed development

Your CV should cover the last 10 years of employment, including explanations for any employment breaks. You must have the legal right to work in the UK and be willing to attend a registration interview.
