Metalis are currently in partnership with a metrology engineering business who are looking to recruit a Senior Assembly Technicianon adays regular shift.

Role purpose:The Assembly Technician/Fitter will carry out the mechanical and electrical build of a range of vision & optical products, working to technical drawings and build plans and procedures. A focus on quality and accuracy of assembly is required to achieve the high standards needed for this product range

Role particularsPart of the Production (optical & vision) team.Reports to the Production Lead (Optical & Vision).No direct reports

Key Accountabilities:Electrical and mechanical build of vision and optical products to established build procedures.Build various Electrical/Mechanical sub-assemblies for stock.Work in accordance with established build and ISO 9001 procedures.Ensure safe operation of mechanical handling equipment following the company procedures at all times.Read engineering drawings and understand the specifications and tolerancing.A focus on quality and accuracy of assembly is required to achieve the high standards needed for this product range.

Candidate requirements:Formal mechanical and manufacturing engineering qualification (or equivalent) or time-served apprenticeship.Experience in a similar high precision environment.Ability to read technical /engineering drawings with a good understanding of tolerancing/geometrical tolerancingExcellent level of accuracy and attention to detail.Methodical & logical approach to workGeneral understanding of using computer software Ability to follow detailed drawings and instructions for buildSelf-motivatedAttention to detail Excellent work ethic, always looking to improve and with a can-do approach to workGood timekeeping and organisational skillsTeam PlayerBe able to work both individually and as part of a team Maintain a clean and tidy working area In accordance with Site rules maintain high levels of Health & Safety at all times Flexible approach to work with a driven attitude to deliver the requirements of the role

Hours of work: Mon - Thurs 07:45- 16:30 & Fri 07:45-12:45
