Employment Solicitor 2+ PQE

We are seeking an Employment Solicitor to develop our Employment Law offering in the Bristol and Gloucester regions. This role offers the opportunity to grow an Employment Law Team and progress through the management structure, reporting directly to the Legal Director and Head of Employment Law.

Day to Day of the role:
  • Conduct day-to-day management of allocated employment files and connected work, including advocacy where appropriate.
  • Handle all aspects of Employment Law for both employers and employees confidently.
  • Achieve billing targets in line with departmental goals.
  • Demonstrate client-focused service, acting promptly and proactively on all matters.
  • Assist colleagues with substantial case files or assume conduct of such cases as needed.
  • Provide employment advice to the Company and Commercial department.
  • Handle queries from other offices, with potential travel to these locations.
  • Work to strict deadlines in a pressurised yet supportive environment.
  • Liaise and manage relationships with support staff, including performance management if required.
  • Supervise trainee solicitors and contribute to their development.
  • Collaborate with the Head of Department on financial budgeting and training opportunities.
  • Maintain accurate electronic client records.
  • Act as a positive ambassador for the firm.
  • Participate in business development activities, including networking, writing articles, and delivering seminars.
  • Engage in regular professional development.
  • Exhibit flexibility, particularly during periods of holiday/sickness cover.
  • Apply professional standards and best practices to prevent claims of professional negligence.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
  • Qualified Employment Solicitor with experience in handling a wide range of employment law matters.
  • Ability to manage a diverse caseload with a high degree of organisation and professionalism.
  • Strong advocacy skills and experience in both employer and employee representation.
  • Excellent client service skills with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team and contribute to the development of the department.
  • Willingness to engage in business development and networking activities.
  • Proficiency in maintaining electronic records and compliance with departmental procedures.
