We are looking to welcome a new Visual Merchandiser to join our amazing Communication & Interior Design team based in Cardiff on a 1 year secondment basis, this will end in August 2025.

Successful Application Expectations:
Phone call interview between: 8th - 14th May
Interviews will take place: 13th - 20th May
Expected Starting Date: June 2024 - Notice periods can be discussed at interview.

WHAT WE OFFER
• Competitive salary starting from £20,600 based skills and competencies.
• 32 hours weekly, working 5 days over 7.
• Standard working hours will be between Monday to Friday, starting at 07:00am to 15:45pm.
• Ad hoc work outside of the above hours may be asked of you to meet business needs, however this will be occasional and discussed in advance.

The role of Visual Merchandiser has a starting salary of £20,600. Following secondment principles, if a salary increase is awarded it will be paid as a secondment allowance. The amount decided is dependent on the successful candidate’s current base salary and their displayed competencies for the role. The co-worker's current benefits remain the same for the duration of the secondment, bonus level is subject to change.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED TO HAVE
You have a creative and commercial sense, and you are passionate about inspiring and surprising our customers by presenting and communicating the IKEA home furnishing offer in-store. You have a passion for fast-paced, future-oriented retailing, and an understanding of the trends that influence home furnishing and retail. 

• You have relevant design qualification's & experience in visual merchandising, preferably within a retail or home furnishings environment.
• This is a fast-paced, hands on role where you will work around the store.
• You are able to inspire, motivate and engage people fully to reach set goals, and generate growth and long-term profitability.
• You continually seek new opportunities to make improvements in the way we work and encouraging your team to do the same. 
• Challenging your team and yourself in order to strengthen the IKEA Brand and, at the same time, exceed the expectations of customers.
• Knowledge in design planning software such as Revit, AutoCad is desirable.
WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING DAY TO DAY
• Contribute to positioning the IKEA store as the first choice for home furnishing solutions in your local market.
• Provide inspiring home furnishing solutions for a single product or a combination of products that will support a convenient shopping experience and improve life at home for the many people.
• Use visual merchandising competence to strengthen the uniqueness of the IKEA identity in range presentation solutions in the store by working with store layout, range presentation and vitality.
• Stay updated on trends in home furnishing and retailing to generate creative directions that inspire and surprise visitors with a strong visual impression.
• Planning and implementing the store layout plan to create a visually aesthetic shopping experience that both inspires and ensures continued commercial success.

Final Stage if successful you will be invited to a Grandparent interview with one of our Managers.
