We are actively seeking a Health & Safety Manager who is committed to nurturing a culture of safety within the workplace. In this vital role, you will spearhead the enhancement and supervision of health and safety initiatives within a leading radio communications company. Based near Chelmsford, Essex, you will be the linchpin in ensuring compliance and a safe working environment across our various business units.

Responsibilities:

  • Uphold and champion the company’s safety policies, ensuring safe working practices are consistently followed.
  • Manage and refine emergency response plans, including conducting regular drills to assess their effectiveness.
  • Design and implement health and safety training to elevate awareness and competence among employees.
  • Perform routine health and safety checks and audits, ensuring adherence to industry standards.
  • Investigate accidents thoroughly, maintaining precise records and reporting to relevant parties as necessary.
  • Encourage a culture of health and safety within the company, supporting Branch Managers in their health and safety responsibilities.
  • Remain informed of industry best practices to maintain a proactive approach to workplace safety.
  • Travel to other sites as needed, with the flexibility to manage your own schedule.

Skills & Qualifications:

  • Health and Safety qualification (diploma level or higher).
  • Demonstrable experience in promoting a positive Health and Safety culture in a professional setting.
  • Exceptional communication and leadership abilities.
  • Skilled at building relationships and working collaboratively across various departments.
  • Decisive and able to identify and implement improvements within the business.
  • Team-oriented with a personable and approachable demeanor.
  • Logical and practical problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in IT, including Microsoft Office and web applications.
  • Full UK driving licence is essential.
