We are seeking a Project Design Engineer with a strong background in mechanical engineering to join a leading global automotive and heavy goods vehicle components manufacturer. This role is ideal for someone who is confident in communicating with clients, supporting their requirements, and negotiating effectively. It will involve liaising with the client and the internal design team to successfully execute projects, working with high profile automotive brands, including electric vehicle manufacturers. 

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Manage one or several projects, ensuring they meet the design study schedule, budget, and product design consistency with specifications and customer expectations.
  • Conduct functional analysis and product failure mode analysis (FMEA).
  • Apply standards and formalize design requirements for suppliers.
  • Present technical solutions internally and to customers.
  • Contribute to maintaining and developing knowledge and expertise within the assigned area of responsibility.
  • Take an active role in technical meetings and project reviews.
  • Manage plan developments and ensure the follow-up of existing products.
  • Implement procedures and operating instructions relevant to Quality, Safety, and Environment within the scope of duties.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of field-related experience.
  • Strong understanding of plastics/rubber engineering and/or metal part engineering, including design rules and layout drawings.
  • Experience with functional analysis and product failure mode analysis (FMEA).
  • Proficiency in office automation systems and MS Office (Catia, Portal, PDM, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Excellent command of the English language.
  • Strong interpersonal skills, creativity, and the ability to work effectively in a team.
