A College for students between 16 and 19 are looking for a Teaching Assistant to join their friendly SEN department in Chippenham, Wiltshire. The department caters for college students who have various additional needs such as autism, ADHD, learning difficulties and physical disabilities and need extra support through the school day.

The perfect Teaching Assistant will be passionate and enthusiastic and be able to build strong relationships with all the students in the SEN department. You will need to bring a positive energy to the classroom and encourage the students to learn independently. Any previous experience working with children and/or adults with SEN would be beneficial. A relevant degree in psychology, criminology or health & social care or Level 3 Qualification would also be useful.

As a Teaching Assistant, your daily duties will involve both 1:1 and group-based work, supporting the students as they undertaken their chosen course of study. You will help clarify and explain instructions, ensuring all the students are motivated and engaged during lessons. You will also help make the college a fun and exciting place to be and learn.

The college focuses on preparing the students for when they leave education, catering them with as many practical and vocational skills as possible. The SEN Department has a very sociable and friendly atmosphere, and as a Teaching Assistant, you would be joining a fantastic team! In this role you would gain invaluable experience working with vulnerable people.
