  • Salary: From £18.00 per hour, Schedule: Day shift, Monday to Friday, Weekend availability. Experience required: Paint Shop Supervising - 3 years.

Our commercial vehicle and MOD specialist coating client is currently looking for an experienced Supervisor to join the expanding team. The will encompass both supervisory and spraying duties, working closely with both management and shop floor staff.

All applicants will have at least 3 years in a similar role from this environment and be able to demonstrate the skills required to spray large commercial vehicle to a very high standard and maintain an organized and skilled work force.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

THIS IS A HANDS ON POSITION

Working closely and reporting to relevant Paint Shop Manager, setting, agreeing and meeting targets and requirements set each day/week, ongoing, ensuring targets and standards are met, effecting recovery of maximum return.

Working productively with in teams to ensure the most efficient processes and procedures are met.

Liaise with Paintshop Manager in respect to work requirements set for nightshift and weekend working and instruct personnel in respect to work load, targets and requirements.

Supervise Paint Shop personnel, monitoring performance, quality, Health & Safety and specifically paying attention to correct use of PPE, misuse of personal mobile phones in work time, break times, non productive management and misdemeanours reporting and discussing with immediate manager on any actions required.

Ensure all new work is proved to meet best productive and material use requirements.

Control resources, equipment and materials (including returns)to affect the best return.

Actively seek and act upon opportunities to reduce costs and waste.

Ensure all plant and equipment is issued, inspected and maintained, including weekly checks and updating relevant records and tick sheets, discussing and reporting requirements and defects directly with manager.

Instruct and overview requirements of training or trainees.

Keyholder responsible for opening/locking and security requirements.

In the absence of the Paintshop Manager and including cover of other sites, sickness and manager holidays.

Customer and visitor reporting, basic reporting/talking to any customer/visitor in a considerate and professional manner.

Control of accident reporting and Health & Safety when on shift, reporting back to the Manager when possible.

Must be capable at all times of leading by example and be fully knowledgeable and conversant with all Works Handbook and Policies.

Must have a balanced judgement, working closely with both management and employees whilst maintaining and promoting a positive company overview and respect.
