It is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Income Officer to join a fabulous reputable housing organisation team in Surrey.

For this job role, the successful Income Officer will provide a coordinated, flexible and effective income collection service that maximises rents and service charges owed to them by the tenants.

Temporary Contract: 2 Months

Monday to Friday: Full-Time

Hybrid and flexible working with visits around Surrey

Hourly Rate: £22 - £25 (PAYE)

Main responsibilities:

  • Manage a patch in Surrey
  • Reduce accounts in arrears to meet monthly targets
  • Produce arrear reports and letters
  • Advise residents, serve notices and conduct home visits
  • Prepare support plans and achieve meaningful progression
  • Identify individual needs and make referrals to the suitable provision
  • Manage and recover debt from former tenant arrears
  • Update records from all resident interactions, recovery actions and correspondence
  • Liaise with team members across the housing services as well as external stakeholders, including DWP, Housing Benefits departments, courts, and advice agencies.
  • Prepare court documents relevant to rent posession cases and attend court hearings as needed

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Worked as an Income Officer within the housing sector for at least two years
  • Demonstrated experience in handling evictions and County Court and/or Tribunal hearings
  • Has welfare benefits knowledge and is familiar with current housing legislation
  • Must be a Driver (mileage and expenses allowance)
  • A high level of competence
  • Available immediately or on a short notice
