Payroll Officer

Our client is a firm based in Croydon. They service a range of clients from various sectors. Offering accounts preparation, audit, company structure and tax advice. A dynamic and closely knit team in Croydon are recruiting for a new Payroll Officer to join their accounting firm.

Key Responsibilities:

• Working within the Payroll undertaking administrative, advisory and payroll duties;

• Ensuring that all payrolls are processed within the required timeframes and liaising with other members of the team with matters relating to payroll;

• Ensuring that all pension administration, including Auto Enrolment processes are carried out in an accurate and timely manner;

• To prepare and maintain routine and ad hoc reports, spreadsheets and database information as required;

• To liaise with a wide variety of contacts both internal and external to the Company;.

• Liaise with HM Revenue & Customs as and when required;

• Responsible for maintaining your own portfolio of Clients and ensuring their payrolls are completed accurately and on time;

• Deal with Client and employee queries;

• Maintain records and reports and payroll matters including details of benefits in kind, fleet car values etc required for completion of P11Ds and Class 1A returns;

• Reconcile Clients payrolls ensuring that all new joiners are added to the payroll, leavers removed at the correct time and all payroll instructions are actioned;

• Ensuring that all FPS and EPS returns are made to HMRC in an accurate and timely manner; and

• Ad hoc duties when required.

Education, Skills & Experience:

• Experience in Payroll & Pensions Administration & Processing; using Bright Pay

• Strong IT skills and a proven ability to use and adapt quickly to new technology;

• Interpersonal and communication skills of a high order which are applicable to a range of colleagues and clients;

• Microsoft Office skills, excellent interpersonal and communication skills; and

• Ability to work flexibly and effectively as an individual and team member.

Reporting to the Payroll Manager, the Payroll Officer role is to support all aspects of payroll processing in order to meet the requirements of both internal and external stakeholders.
