Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Special Needs Teacher to join our team. The successful candidate will have the following qualifications and skills:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS): Essential for this role.
  • SEN Qualification: A specialized qualification in special educational needs.
  • Minimum 3 Years of Teaching Experience: Proven track record of working with students with diverse needs.
  • Strong Behavioural Management Skills: Ability to create a positive and structured classroom environment.
Responsibilities

As a Special Needs Teacher, you will:

  • Plan and Deliver Lessons: Develop and deliver tailored lessons that meet the individual needs of students with special educational needs.
  • Implement Differentiated Strategies: Use a variety of teaching methods to accommodate diverse learning styles.
  • Promote Inclusivity: Set clear learning objectives, enable full access to the curriculum, and use assessment data to inform future lesson planning.
  • Create a Positive Atmosphere: Establish high expectations for behaviour, motivation, and presentation of work.
  • Provide Support: Physically and communicatively support pupils, removing barriers to learning.
  • Collaborate with Support Staff: Work closely with teaching assistants and other professionals to enhance the educational experience
Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Previous Experience as an SEN Teacher: Highly advantageous.
  • Strong Understanding of SEN Legislation and Best Practices.
  • Excellent Communication and Interpersonal Skills.
