We are currently recruiting for a Resource Co-Ordinator to work for Gwent Police at their headquarters in Cwmbran.

This is a temporary role working Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm and will be hybrid working.

PLEASE NOTE DUE TO THE POLICE VETTING CRITERIA YOU MUST HAVE BEEN RESIDING WITHIN THE UK CONTINUOUSLY FOR AT LEAST 3 YEARS AT THE TIME OF APPLICATION.

This is an exciting opportunity for a dynamic individual who has the ability to undertake multiple tasks, sometimes within short time frames, in order to ensure force resources are maximised at all times. The successful candidate will be friendly, supportive, a team player, able to work under pressure, have excellent interpersonal skills and have a good eye for detail.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. To coordinate the Force Resource Management System, ensuring compliance with patrol plans, staffing levels and that appropriate resources are available for Operational Events and Major Incidents as directed
  2. To monitor and advise on abstraction levels in force. This should include the allocation of training, annual leave/other time off and court where necessary, ensuring remedial action is taken to address shortfall.
  3. To pro-actively identify, resolve and liaise with identified individuals about issues relating to rostering, abstractions and establishment; to include but not limited to the refusal of leave for negative balances; review of time owed; new rota compliance
  4. Maintain administrative systems to facilitate the efficient and effective delivery of the operations and logistics function
  5. To provide non-financial logistics support to Operational Policing to enable the smooth running of planned and reactive policing operations and direct those requiring financial support to the appropriate department
  6. To collate, present and disseminate reports and information for resourcing systems to users across the Force
  7. To ensure adherence to the Working Time Directive, national policies relating to Operational Planning and sound knowledge of Police Regulations and Police Staff Conditions of Service relating to the management of rostering
  8. To receive and respond to enquiries from customers, including complex enquiries related to the area of work

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Must have achieved 5 x A- C grade GCSE's or equivalent or able to demonstrate equivalent skills and abilities.
  2. Must be able to evidence previous experience of using office systems and administration / co-ordination and be able to evidence a high level of computer literacy.
  3. Must have experience of liaising with a wide variety of internal/external customers including challenging and complex enquiries.
  4. Must have experience of dealing with large volumes of information and be able to demonstrate ensuring data accuracy
  5. Must have a good knowledge of current legislation including Work Time Directive and national policy relating to Operational Planning
  6. Must have a good knowledge of Police Regulations and Police Staff Conditions of Service relating to the management of rostering
