Robertson Bell are recruiting an Interim Deputy CFO for a commercially run not for profit organisation. The role joins a CFO who is embarking on a huge change programme throughout the organisation. The role will act as number two to the CFO leading on the change from both a cultural and process perspective.

The main responsibilities of the Interim Deputy CFO are:

  • Manage the finance team day to day, leading through managers to ensure the whole finance team are delivering a high performance.
  • Make improvements to current policies and procedures, with the aim of running an a-grade finance function.
  • Lead on the statutory accounts and audit, in addition to making sure high quality management accounts are produced.
  • Make improvements to both the payroll and procurement departments which sit under the remit of this role.

The role is due to be for a period of six months with the potential to go permanent if desired. A CV enhancing opportunity to make major improvements to a finance team with a line manager who is passionate about change. The position will be hybrid with 50% of the time in the office based just outside East London, accessible from both Essex and Kent.

The successful candidate will:

  • Be confident in leading on change and running a finance team.
  • Be immediately available or on a short notice period.
  • Ideally have previous not for profit or public sector experience, however strong candidate from all sectors will be considered.
