Robert Half is working with a large industrial business in Derby to recruit a Senior Financial Accountant. This role would suit an ambitious, technically minded accountant with at least a few years PQE

The current team thrives on process improvement and compliance, maintaining a robust control framework while ensuring efficient financial operations across the board. The role reports into the Global Finance Director, and will have exposure to the senior leadership team in the US,.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and oversee a team of 3-4 financial staff.
  • Control and lead the month-end close process ensuring timely completion of support functions.
  • Handle all data requests for audit and statutory compliance purposes.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely posting of all accounting entries and reconciliations.
  • Conduct training and ensure compliance with company controls across the business.
  • Coordinate with internal and external partners to ensure financial integrity and compliance with local and international standards.
  • Support various financial projects, from audit planning to tax filings and payroll processes.
  • Promote a culture of continuous improvement within the financial department.

Desired Qualifications and Experience:

  • ACA or ACCA certified.
  • 2-5 years of post-qualification experience in finance.
  • Proven staff management skills.
  • Experience with a global business (ideally US owned)

Skills:

  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Proficient in managing complex accounting systems and financial reporting.
  • Ability to manage cash flows and financial risks effectively.
  • Keen attention to detail with a capability to drive process improvements.
