JOB PURPOSE

Electronics Design Engineer required to develop, deliver and maintain electronics system solutions of varying size and complexity to meet company and customer requirements. To provide support for existing products and designs.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Design of robust electronics systems for custom and company internal applications aligned to core product range, to meet all relevant requirements, specifications and legislations.

2. Maintain and support existing electronics designs;

3. Schematic capture and PCB layout.

4. Evaluate the performance of new electronics designs using simulation tools and through prototypes testing.

5. Lead/support designs through APQP including FMEA reviews.

6. Develop test fixtures for the production phase of electronic products.

7. Carrying out feasibility studies for new products.

8. Develop appropriate test plans to meet product compliance.

9. Write technical test or investigative reports as required by the engineering function managers.

10. Solve complex engineering problems, as and when required, for example customer queries/returns.

11. Maintain appropriate documentation standards on projects, relating to electronic/electrical design.

12. Work closely with the Project team to ensure project requirements and schedule are met.

13. Proactively contribute to on-going process improvement in all areas of the business.

14. Be flexible to the changing needs of the company in line with strategic objectives.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

ESSENTIAL

•BEng in Electronics Engineering or equivalent appropriate qualification.

•A thorough understanding of the design and working of electronics hardware.

•Use of Altium software package

•The ability to perform fault diagnosis to component level.

•Experience in Flex or Rigid/Flex board design .

DESIRABLE

•MSc in Electronics Engineering

•Certified PCB Layout Designer (CID or CID+)

•Working knowledge of sensing technologies

•Experience in RF design i.e., 433MHz, 2.4GHz

•Use and understanding of simulation tools i.e., LTSpice

•Ability to produce accurate documentation and technical reports.

•Analyse, interpret, and understand data.
