As the production planner, you'll coordinate production activities to meet demand and quality standards. Reporting to the Projects & Materials Manager, your focus is on efficient and timely manufacturing, staying ahead of challenges. This involves creating and managing production plans using tools like Primavera P6, liaising with stakeholders, and anticipating and addressing risks to keep projects on track. Your role is pivotal in ensuring smooth production operations and business success.
Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

  • Manage daily projects including renewals and maintenance.
  • Coordinate workflow across processes and products, ensuring proper allocation of materials, equipment, and manpower.
  • Determine manpower, equipment, and raw material needs to meet production demands.
  • Monitor order progress to ensure timely completion within budget.
  • Plan and prioritize operations for optimal performance and minimal delays.
  • Develop quality plans in line with project schedules and processes.
  • Monitor and adjust plans as needed, utilizing recovery and contingency plans.
  • Facilitate effective information sharing among project stakeholders.
  • Ensure accurate data entry and collection into ERP system from timesheets and production documents.
  • Organize and maintain retrievable documentation for internal and external audits.

We are looking for individuals who possess the following:

  • Prior experience as a production planner in a manufacturing setting, especially within the rail industry, is advantageous.
  • Experience of production ERP/MRP systems such as Epicur's, iScala or SAP.
  • High level of accuracy in data entry coupled with robust planning, organizational, and administrative abilities.

In return the production planner will be offered:

  • A base salary of £25,000 - £35,000 per annum dependant on experience
  • 32 days holiday including bank holidays and Christmas closure
