Job Title: Tool Maker Location: DoncasterShifts: Days and AftersSalary: Up to 30K DOEMetalis are currently in partnership with a long-established manufacturing company in Doncaster. Due to growth and expansion, our client has a fantastic opportunity for a tool maker.Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the modification or construction of tooling, jigs and attachments to maintain or improve production processes.
  • Manufacture new tooling when required to issued drawings.
  • Preventative maintenance on tooling, all aspects of machining and bench fitting, i.e., grinding, turning milling etc.
  • Testing tooling prior to release.
  • Assess the life of a press tool and to order any new parts or make new parts that need replacing.
  • Replace pilots, probe pins, springs, designing and making special fixtures to fit to tools.
  • Read drawings and suggest possible improvements.
  • Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use and control of machinery, tooling, equipment.
  • Gas safety inspection on furnaces up to the point of needing external company
  • Overseeing the CNC shift and assisting them.

Requirements:

  • Be flexible to changing demands of the post.
  • Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
  • Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role.
  • Ability to manage time effectively.
  • Initiative and the ability to work without supervision, but as part of a team.
  • Supervisory experience essential.
  • Ability to read drawings.

Salary and Shifts:

  • Days 6am - 2pm & Afters 2pm - 10pm.
  • 12 weeks temporary to permanent.
  • Up to £30k dependent on experience and negotiable.
