Job Title: Tool Maker
Location: Doncaster
Shifts: Days and Afters
Salary: Up to 30K DOE
Metalis are currently in partnership with a long-established manufacturing company in Doncaster. Due to growth and expansion, our client has a fantastic opportunity for a tool maker.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist with the modification or construction of tooling, jigs and attachments to maintain or improve production processes.
- Manufacture new tooling when required to issued drawings.
- Preventative maintenance on tooling, all aspects of machining and bench fitting, i.e., grinding, turning milling etc.
- Testing tooling prior to release.
- Assess the life of a press tool and to order any new parts or make new parts that need replacing.
- Replace pilots, probe pins, springs, designing and making special fixtures to fit to tools.
- Read drawings and suggest possible improvements.
- Responsible for ensuring the safe and efficient use and control of machinery, tooling, equipment.
- Gas safety inspection on furnaces up to the point of needing external company
- Overseeing the CNC shift and assisting them.
Requirements:
- Be flexible to changing demands of the post.
- Be punctual, reliable and trustworthy.
- Willing to undertake any training relevant to the role.
- Ability to manage time effectively.
- Initiative and the ability to work without supervision, but as part of a team.
- Supervisory experience essential.
- Ability to read drawings.

Salary and Shifts:
- Days 6am - 2pm & Afters 2pm - 10pm.
- 12 weeks temporary to permanent.
- Up to 30k dependent on experience and negotiable.
