The UK's leading defence manufacturer is looking for a SHE Advisor to join the team at Great Baddow in Chelmsford, Essex.
Job Description- Provide expert SHE advice on UK legislation and compliance with company procedures across all business streams, ensuring effective translation to the business context within agreed timescales.
- Conduct SHE audits and inspections in accordance with internal procedures and ISO 45001/14001 requirements, adhering to a communicated schedule.
- Investigate SHE accidents, incidents and non-conformances, producing comprehensive reports with root cause analysis within agreed timescales.
- Support SHE workshops and training sessions in various business areas.
- Assist in the delivery of existing and new SHE management systems.
- Conduct SHE process audits in line with internal procedures and ISO 45001/14001 requirements, adhering to a communicated schedule.
- Participate in and support wider SHE activities, such as public events and promotional events.
- Actively seek innovative ways to improve SHE delivery.
- Continuously pursue professional development opportunities.
- Embrace and demonstrate positive SHE behaviours.
- Practical internal auditor skills (ISO 14001 / ISO 45001 Internal Auditor qualification desirable).
- Thorough understanding of UK SHE legislation.
- Working knowledge of corporate responsibility framework and sustainability model.
- Familiarity with contractual and legal requirements.
- Awareness of the business context of the supported business unit and locations, including SHE implications and considerations in offering advice.
- Ability to conduct risk assessments.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite.
- Excellent report writing skills.
- Ability to deliver training (qualification desirable).
- Skilled in accident/incident investigation (qualification desirable).
- Professional SHE qualification, such as NEBOSH General Certificate or IEMA Foundation Certificate.
