An exciting opening for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join recruitinga young, ambitious and exciting house builder based in Essex. Since opening, the business have been rushed off their feet with work, they have five live schemes across Essex and five more in the pipeline ranging up to 17 units.

As the business are in the early stages of their growth, you will gain an abundance of experience working closely with the two owners, one of whom has a well-established surveying career.

Duties include:

  • Maintain financial control of contracts allocated
  • Maximise profitability of construction projects
  • Produce and send enquiries to subcontractors and suppliers inviting them to tender
  • Receive and analyse quotations
  • Notify in writing both successful and unsuccessful subcontractors in a timely manner
  • Produce and process formal subcontract documentation
  • Certify interim and final payments to subcontractors and suppliers
  • Produce bill of quantities/pricing schedules
  • Produce cash flow forecasts for internal and client purposes
  • Monitor and control income and expenditure on contracts e.g., interim/final applications for payment/final accounts
  • Assist in producing relevant monthly reports for the Managing Director e.g., cost and value comparisons, turnover forecasts etc. ensuring information is complete and accurate
