Job Title: Assistant Accountant• Location: Guildford (Hybrid working, 2 days in the office, 3 from home)• Job Type: Full-time (37.5 hours per week) permanent• Salary: £35,000- £39,000 per annumWe are seeking a dedicated Assistant Accountant to join a great finance team based in Guildford. This hands-on role is pivotal in ensuring the preparation of timely and accurate financial records for the EMEA Group entities, primarily based in the UK. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining statutory requirements, applying recognised accounting practices, and safeguarding the assets of the operations. We encourage project work, flexibility, and the implementation of innovative ideas in our ever-evolving department.Day to day of the role:• Perform EMEA IC AP settlement creations.• Conduct multi-currency bank reconciliations.• Manage balance sheet reconciliations.• Create monthly journals for Oracle/SAP.• Handle month-end processes, finalising bank reconciliations and intercompany reconciliations.• Complete ARCs reconciliations using Oracle’s online reconciliation portal.• Execute online banking transfers, including AR refunds, funding transfers, tax payments, and template creations.Required skills & qualifications:• Experience with SAP, ORACLE, and CONCUR, ideally.• Proficient in Excel and familiar with other Microsoft Applications.• Knowledge of UK banking systems.• Understanding of generally accepted accounting procedures and good experience of reconciliations.• At least 5 years of experience in an accounting department.• High level education and working towards a recognised accounting qualification.Personal characteristics:• An excellent self-starter with strong self-discipline.• Very high standard of verbal and written communication skills.• Ability to work with all levels of colleagues with calmness, diplomacy, and good humour.• A key team member who can devise and propose improvements and solutions.• Friendly disposition and a positive outlook.Benefits:• Competitive salary.• Work from home flexibility with two office-based days per week (subject to change as per Corporate Policy).• Opportunity for professional development and project involvement.• A supportive and collaborative work environment.Please apply for immediate consideration for this fantastic permanent opportunity.
