Overview: We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Credit Manager to join our dynamic team based in Surrey. The ideal candidate will be responsible for overseeing the credit management process, ensuring the timely collection of outstanding debts, minimizing credit risk, and maintaining strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external clients. Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement credit control policies and procedures to optimize cash flow and minimize bad debt risk.
  • Evaluate the creditworthiness of new and existing customers through thorough credit checks and analysis.
  • Establish and maintain strong relationships with clients, addressing any credit-related queries or concerns in a timely and professional manner.
  • Monitor and review credit limits, terms, and payment arrangements, making recommendations for adjustments as necessary.
  • Proactively identify and address potential credit risks, escalating issues to senior management when appropriate.
  • Oversee the collection process, working closely with the accounts receivable team to ensure prompt payment and resolution of outstanding invoices.
  • Conduct regular reviews of aged debt reports, taking corrective action to reduce outstanding balances.
  • Provide regular reporting and analysis on key credit metrics, including DSO (Days Sales Outstanding), aging reports, and credit risk exposure.
  • Collaborate with sales, finance, and other relevant departments to streamline processes and improve overall credit management efficiency.
  • Stay informed about industry trends, regulatory changes, and best practices in credit management, incorporating relevant insights into day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in credit management, ideally within a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
  • Strong knowledge of credit risk assessment methodologies, financial analysis, and credit control procedures.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and negotiate effectively with clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Demonstrated leadership capabilities, with experience in managing a team or leading cross-functional projects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and experience with credit management software/systems.
  • Analytical mindset with a keen attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • A proactive and solution-oriented approach, with the ability to adapt to changing priorities and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
