Housing Support Team LeaderYoung People's Housing ServiceHalifax6 Week Initial Contract37 hours per week£19 p/hCalderdale Council are recruiting for a Team Leader for their Young Person's Housing Support service in Halifax, to oversee 2 support workers ensuring a good tenancy sustainment and housing management service is being provided.The RoleThe focus of this Housing Support Team Leader role is to lead and supervise the Young Person's Housing Support team, ensuring the provision of high-quality support services for 16/17 year olds and care leavers experiencing homelessness or housing difficulties. This involves coordinating staff, conducting assessments, developing support plans, identifying appropriate housing pathways, and establishing strong partnerships with other agencies and organizations to meet the needs of young people effectively.This will include:

  1. Organize duty rotas to maintain adequate staff coverage and support team effectiveness.
  2. Act as a deputy for the Temporary Accommodation Service Team Leader as needed.
  3. Ensure prompt and appropriate responses for potentially homeless 16 & 17 year olds and 18-20 year old care leavers, initiating formal homelessness investigations when necessary.
  4. Coordinate diverse activities for young people in Calderdale Foyer and temporary accommodation.
  5. Develop and maintain record-keeping systems, ensuring data availability for commissioners, the Council, and relevant federations, while also leading the development of relevant projects, strategies, and policies such as the 16/17yr old Protocol and Care Leavers Protocol.

The CandidateTo be considered for this Housing Support Team Leader role, you will require previous experience of supervising within a supported housing setting and a good knowledge of tenancy sustainment.
