ASSISTANT PRODUCTION MANAGER

ESSENTIAL EXPERIENCE

  • Team Leadership: Manage a team of print operators, technicians, and support staff. Provide guidance, training, and performance evaluations to ensure a cohesive and high-performing team.
  • Production Coordination: Oversee all aspects of the print production process, from scheduling and resource allocation to job prioritisation and quality control.
  • Quality Assurance: Maintain strict quality standards and ensure that printed materials meet or exceed customer expectations and industry benchmarks.
  • Equipment Maintenance: Monitor and manage printing equipment, including troubleshooting, routine maintenance, and coordinating repairs to minimise downtime.
  • Cost Control: Develop and implement cost-effective strategies to optimise print production processes while ensuring budget adherence.
  • Vendor Management: Collaborate with external suppliers and vendors for specialised printing needs, negotiate contracts, and manage relationships to ensure timely and cost-effective services.
  • Technology Integration: Stay updated on the latest printing technologies and trends, and recommend investments in new equipment or software to enhance efficiency and capabilities.
  • Safety and Compliance: Ensure that all printing operations adhere to safety guidelines and industry regulations, including environmental sustainability standards.
  • Inventory Management: Oversee print material inventory, ordering supplies, and maintaining accurate records to avoid shortages or excess stock

  • Strong knowledge of various printing technologies, including offset, digital, and specialty printing.
  • Proficiency in print management software and tools.
  • Exceptional leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to quality.
  • Knowledge of safety and compliance regulations in the printing industry.
