Synopsis: My Client is seeking an experienced Service Manager from an Industrial Doors, Shutters and Gates background, capable of managing the customer interface and communicating at all levels. £K Excellent Negotiable Salary, OTE, car plan,pension and exec benefits. Based in the Hertfordshire Branch

Job Description: My Client has been in business since 1966 and is a major independent door company specialising in the manufacture, installation, repair and maintenance of all types of Industrial Doors and Shutters, Steel Fabrication, Lift Gates and Shutters, Industrial Roofing and Structural Glazing.

The Client has a strong and varied customer base in industry sectors such as MoD, Railways, Retail and Airports as well as numerous local and national businesses. They have a UK wide Branch Network.

Their experienced team of engineers, electricians, roofers and fabricators are all full time employees allowing them to maintain a high quality level of service and workmanship.

They operate an emergency call out service 365 days a year.

Reportable to the Branch Director, they are seeking a Service Manager to run their service and repair teams within a busy/fast moving work environment.

The candidate much be able to prioritise their own workload, work under pressure and work be able to work well as part of a team to achieve targets and deadlines.

Attention to detail is vital, as is using initiative and having the ability to investigate and solve problems

Customer service experience is essential and must be confident and able to communicate well with people at all levels within the business as well as having a professional approach when speaking to customers and suppliers.

Responsibilities and Duties

List of Responsibilities to include, but not limited to

Accountable for the day to day running of the Repairs, Service and Installation department

Receiving orders, logging on & producing job sheets

Planning Diary for engineers.

Update Customer Portals

Update service schedules

Logging further quoted works required

Preparing job file for invoicing

Pricing reactive visits and updating the customers.

Preparation of quotations for follow on works and new enquiries

Site visits and safety audits

Providing site engineer’s technical support and works instruction

Site surveys and customer meetings as necessary

Managing maintenance on site tools/Equipment and vehicles

Inclusion on their out of hour phone rota

Qualifications and Skills

Core skills to include:

Trade specific knowledge within the field of Industrial Doors and Gates

Strong mechanical and some electrical knowledge an advantage

Trade specific qualifications, an advantage

Good organisational skills and communications

Experience within a similar role preferred.

Salary dependant on experience
